LOREN E. MOREY

RURAL LAMAR- Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Milford Christian Church for Loren E. Morey, 82, rural Lamar, who died at his home on Wednesday, May 17, 2017, after a short illness. Randy Gariss will officiate. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, at Daniel Funeral Home.

Contributions are suggested to Milford Christian Church, in care of the funeral home.

Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Ellen Jo Morey; two sons and their wives, Kevin and Shari Morey, Lee's Summit and Kent and Melissa Morey, Lamar; six grandchildren, Erica, Erin, Eriel, Garrett, Kara and Brenna; one brother, Earl Morey and wife Susan, Gainesville, Fla. and three sisters, Reba Fanning and Gloria McCulley and husband Bud, Lamar and Pauline Blankenship and husband Herman, Toledo, Ohio.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Alice Rall and Maxine Obert.

Mr. Morey was born Nov. 1, 1934, in Lamar, to George A. and Edna (Millard) Morey. He graduated Lamar High School and then served his country in the United States Army. He married Ellen Jo Chapman on Dec. 11, 1960, in Milford. He was a member of Milford Christian Church and was a livestock and crop farmer. He loved to ride horses with his grandchildren and taking them for a ride on his team of horses and wagon. Watching his grandchildren play ball also brought a lot of joy to his life.
