WARREN GROVE
LAMAR- Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Daniel Funeral Home for Warren Allen Grove, Jr., 67, Lamar, who died Tuesday, May 16, 2017, at Freeman West Hospital in Joplin. Visitation will be held prior to the service, beginning at 1 p.m. Burial will be in Oakton Cemetery at a later date.

Survivors include his soulmate of 30 years, Precious Sarah Ritter, who he created a home with filled with love, children, laughter and many entertaining pets. In addition, he leaves their clan, Victoria and Randy Morrison and Michelle and Curtis Cox, Kansas City, Kan., David and Lisa Williams, Kathy and Shae Conaway, Portage, Ind., Patricia and Mark Miller, Michigan; Carl and Amy Ruth, Brian and Tausha Ruth and Chris Ruth, all of Lamar, Vicki Lynn and Billy Elder, Golden City, Trish Stump, Rusk, Texas, Tamera Ruth and T.J. Barnes, Stockton and Christina Ruth, Lamar. He will be greatly missed by numerous grandkids, many great-grandkids, nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, Junior and Peggy, Kansas City, Donnie Sparks, Texas and Homer Sparks, Lamar.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a stepfather; a brother, Steven Grove, that was killed in Vietnam; a daughter, Diane West and a son, Doug Williams.
Mr. Grove was born April 5, 1950, in Colby, Kan., to Warren Sr. and Elizabeth (Ward) Grove. His father died earlier in his life and he was reared by his stepfather, Charles W. Ward. After graduating from Fairmont High School, he entered the U.S. Navy, serving three tours in Vietnam as a first gunner-mate. His working career utilized a wide variety of his talents and interests, from nursing to fiber optic cable installation for Ryle Construction. In Lamar, he will be remembered for the excellent mechanic and tire service he did while working at 71 Tire and Carnahan Tire.
