BURGESS- A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Shiloh Cemetery in Liberal for David Jackson Stevens, 68, Burgess, who died unexpectedly at his home on Tuesday, May 30, 2017. Brian Thomason will officiate.

Arrangements are under the direction of Daniel Funeral Home, Lamar.

Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, at the funeral home.

Survivors include a son, David J. Stevens, Oregon City, Ore.; four daughters, Chrissy Page and husband Michael, Burgess, Jennifer Stevens and husband Luke Gardner, Mulberry, Kan., JoeAnna Pullin, Mindenmines and Annette Morgan, Ceres, Calif.; two brothers, Terry Stevens and wife Cindy and Roger Stevens; four sisters, Patsy Arne and husband Juel, Mardell Firkel, Norma Showalter and Rosie Nealeigh; grandchildren, David Stevens Jr., Stacey Morgan, Ricky Morgan, Scott Connelly, Tom Connelly, James Wise, Zach Gardner, Jessica Stevens and Josh Stevens and great-grandchildren, Joeanna, Jessie James, Alexis, Amelia Mae and Caleb Alexander.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Alice Connelly; his parents; seven brothers, James Dalton, Damon Stevens, Lloyd Stevens, Jimmy Stevens, Buddy Tune, Sonny Tune and Jr. Dale Stevens and five sisters, Ella Belle Walters, Evelyn Walters, Darlene Dalton, Frances Stevens and Joyce Stevens.

Mr. Stevens was born Sept. 16, 1948, in Alton, to William and Reva (Switzer) Stevens. He graduated high school in Waterford, Calif. He worked at Pitt Plastics before retiring and loved fishing and hunting.

He married CarolLyn Williams on Nov. 5, 1976. She died in 2010.
