LEE STORM
LAMAR-Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Daniel Funeral Home for Phillip Lee Storm, 87, Lamar, who died at his home on Wednesday, June 10, 2015, following a long illness. Burial, with full military honors, will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home, prior to the service, beginning at 10 a.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Jasper Elementary Booster Club, in care of the funeral home.

Survivors include his wife of nearly 63 years, Fay, of the home; five children and their spouses, Barbara Dixon and Jo Ann and Greg Still, Lee's Summit, Larry and Dana Storm, Jasper, Vi and Mike Tubaugh, Carthage and Phillip Jr. and Andrea Storm, Jasper; a sister, Bessie Lawless, Carthage; 10 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by seven brothers, Oral, Troy, Jack, Fred, Ray, Floyd and Dale Storm; a sister, Ruth Talbott and a son-in-law, David Dixon.
Mr. Storm was born Oct. 25, 1927, near Oronogo, to Sam and Viola (Minkler) Storm. After graduating from Jasper High School in 1947, he enlisted in the U.S. Army, serving in Guam. Returning home he married the sweetest thing in the bakery, Fay Voorhees, on Nov. 27, 1952. They made their home and reared five children on a farm south of Lamar. In addition to farming, he had worked at Lawn Boy for over 12 years and retired after a 33 year career at Midwest Minerals.
He and his wife moved to Lamar in 1989 and enjoyed traveling and sight-seeing all across the country. He was an avid reader, worked Sudoku and word puzzles daily and was a loyal St. Louis Cardinal fan. He earned many trophies as a professional horse shoe pitcher and had served as president of Jasper Eagle Squares and Lamar Square Dance Club.
He was a great neighbor and always looked forward to the fellowship of playing cards or board games with family and friends. He was an active member of First Christian Church of Lamar.
