LUTHER JUNIOR THOMASON

JASPER-Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary for Luther Junior Thomason, 54, Jasper, who died Sunday, June 14, 2015, at Freeman West Hospital in Joplin, following a lengthy illness. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Waters Cemetery, near Jasper.
Survivors include his mother, Gloria Scott, Jasper; four brothers, John Thomason and wife Norma, Lamar, Darrell Thomason and Rick Leivan, both of Jasper and Tim Thomason, Brookfield; a sister, Teresa Splain, Maryland; a son, Michael Thomason and wife Marie, Sarcoxie, four grandchildren and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Luther E. Thomason and a sister, Kathleen Kathy Lida.
Mr. Thomason was born April 8, 1961, at Barton County Memorial Hospital in Lamar. He attended Jasper High School and was a member of First Baptist Church in Jasper. He was an over the road truck driver for more than 25 years. He loved driving over the road after he started driving cross country with his dad, Luther. He loved working in his yard and his two constant companions, his dogs, Pooh and Itsy.
In his early years he loved riding motorcycles, working on and driving his cars. His sense of humor and having fun is what people will remember most and that he loved his family and closest friends unconditionally. He is loved by many and will be missed.
