LAMAR-A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Konantz Warden Funeral Home Chapel for Monte Brannon, 65, Lamar, who died Tuesday, June 16, 2015, at his home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Oakton United Methodist Church Building Fund.

Survivors include his wife, Cindy Brannon; a daughter, Kylie Bourland and husband Paul, Arizona; two sisters, Linda Coon, Joplin and Connie Pagacz, Lamar; his mother, Elaine (Pickens) Brannon, Lamar; a stepson, Chad Medlin and wife Lisa; four grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Calvin Brannon and an infant brother, Danny Lee, who died in 1952.

Mr. Brannon was born Dec. 17, 1949, in Cortez, Colo., to Calvin and Elaine (Pickens) Brannon. He was a 1968 graduate of Lamar High School. He graduated from Rhema Bible College in Tulsa. Okla. in 1977. He was one of the first paramedics in the state of Missouri, was the director of ambulance services in Nevada, Mo., then joined the Enid Police Department in Enid, Okla., where he spent 32 years. He was also chief of police in Southwest City for nine years.

He was a member of Oakton United Methodist Church, where he was a sound technician and gave his support to the praise team. He also sang bass with the Ambassadors Quartet and was a member of the F.O.P.

He married Cindy Johnston in February of 2000, in Oklahoma City, Okla.
