LOCKWOOD- Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Lockwood Methodist Church for Billy Keith Watson, 64, Lockwood, who died Friday, Aug. 25, 2017, after a courageous battle with cancer. Pastor Travis James officiated.

Arrangements are under the direction of Konantz Warden Funeral Home, Lamar.

Survivors include his son, Shawn Watson and wife Breean; a daughter, Tammie Gastel and husband Rick; five grandchildren, Reed Gastel, Abryana Watson, Taylen Watson, Kruz Gastel and Kase Gastel; a sister, Ann Kaiser and husband Richard, Strafford and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Patsy Watson; a sister, Shirley Goodwin and a brother, David Watson.

Mr. Watson was born Oct. 24, 1952, to Paul and Patsy (Daffron) Watson in Thayer. He was a member of the Methodist Church in Lockwood. He had several professions in his lifetime. He was a truck driver, insurance salesman and also laid carpet in the area for many years.

He had a natural love for speed, whether it was race cars, classic cars or boats. He equally loved the peace and quiet of the outdoors. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, canoeing and camping. He often said the water is where he found his peace.
