WAYNE K. BROWN
RURAL NEVADA, Mo.-Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church of Nevada for Wayne K. Brown, 91, rural Nevada, who died Monday, June 15, 2015, at his home. Visitation will be held prior to the service, beginning at 1:30 p.m. Burial will be at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, east of Nevada.
Arrangements are under the direction of Konantz Warden Funeral Home, Lamar.

Survivors include a daughter, Brenda L. Golden and husband Gene, Nevada; seven grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Marie Brown Gremminger; a son, Erik Eugene Brown; three sisters and two brothers.
Mr. Brown was born Sept. 19, 1923, in Carleton, Neb., to Isaac Newton and Suzie Marie Brown. He was a 1940 graduate of Walker High School. He joined the Civilian Conservation Corp and in 1943 he was called to serve in the Army Air Corp. He then enlisted in the Air Force and served nearly 31 years, reaching the rank of Chief Master Sergeant. He was recipient of 13 service awards.
He donated monthly to Wycliffe Bible Translators for over 29 yeas and traveled to Indonesia three times. He also donated monthly to a teaching missionary in Russia. He sang in church choirs wherever he went and sang for several years with the Nevada Community Singers. He sang in both the Praise Choir and Glory Choir of First Baptist Church, Nevada, until his late 70s and continued singing in the Glory Choir until his 80s.
He married Ina Arlene Kircher on Feb. 23, 1946. She died in 1982.
