WILMA LEE SHUPE
NEVADA- Services will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, at Ferry Funeral Home for Wilma Lee Shupe, 85, Nevada, who died Thursday, Aug. 31, 2017, following a brief illness. Kevin Moyers will officiate. Burial will follow in Moore Cemetery in Nevada.
Visitation will be held prior to the service, beginning at 2 p.m.
Memorials are suggested to Bronaugh Christian Church or the Vernon County Youth Fair, in care of the funeral home.

Survivors include two sons, Ken Shupe and wife Alice and Doug Shupe and wife Lynne, both of Nevada; three granddaughters, Jill Smith and husband Brian, Nevada, Ashley Forkner and husband Nathan, Richards and Whitney Forkner, Nevada; five great-grandchildren, Bronson and Adison Smith, Mason and Rhett Forkner and Jackson Montgomery; one brother-in-law, John Shupe, Oklahoma City, Okla. and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mrs. Shupe was born March 22, 1932, in Lamar, to Ora L. and Bertie A. (Lloyd) Faubion. She attended Lamar High School, graduating in 1950. After getting married, she and her husband moved to Nevada where she worked for Swift Fertilizer for many years before purchasing the business with the partnership of Elton Caldwell, which was formerly know as C & S Fertilizer. After retiring, she enjoyed gardening and raising cattle and helping her husband on the farm. She was a member of the Bronaugh Christian Church, where she played piano for many years.
She married Charles “Chick” Shupe on Dec. 16, 1950 in Lamar. He died Aug. 9, 2011.
