CARTHAGE- Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Ulmer Funeral Home for Thomas Lester Rush, 73, Carthage, who died Tuesday, Sept. 5, 2017, at Freeman Hospital in Joplin. Visitation will be held prior . to the services, beginning at 9 a.m. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Rush; two sons, Dusty Rush, Neosho and David Pennington, Arizona; two daughters, Ronda Freeland and husband Allen, Carthage and Lynnette Watson and husband Alan, Lamar; three brothers, Bill Rush, Carl Junction, Ronald “Jerry” Rush and wife Joanne, Oceanside, Calif. and Terry Rush and wife Barbara, New Braunfels, Texas; one sister, Betty Pierce and husband Dave, Carthage; six grandchildren and one great-grandson.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Donald Rush and Arthur “Larry” Rush and one sister, Dixie Pennington.
Mr. Rush was born May 26, 1944, in Wenatchee, Wash., to Lester and Mary Juanita (Everhart) Rush. He had lived in Carthage most of his married life. He was a self-employed truck driver, a veteran of the United States Air Force and a member of the Church of the Nazarene.
He married Linda Lee on Feb. 9, 1965, in Carthage.
