NEIL MCCASLIN

LAMAR- Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at the First Christian Church in Lamar for Frankie Neil McCaslin, 82, Lamar, who died Sunday, Sept. 17, 2017, at his home. Burial will be in Sheldon Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, at the church.
Arrangements are under the direction of Konantz Warden Funeral Home.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy, of the home; six children; 12 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and two sisters, Wanda Hutson and Denzil Voorhees.
He was preceded in death by one son; one great-grandchild, Ethan Hull; three brothers and two sisters.
Mr. McCaslin was born Feb. 25, 1935, to Melvin E. and Olive (Daugherty) McCaslin. He went to school at Bakers Grove and finished in Lamar.
He married Wanda Eversol in 1953 and two children were born of this marriage, Roger McCaslin (Linda) and Suzie McCulley (Earl). This marriage ended in 1958.
He served in the National Guard from 1953-1956 and in the Army from 1956-1958.
He married Dorothy Wisely in 1959 and to this marriage five children were born, Theresa Little (Greg), Renea Tuck (Don), Brad McCaslin (Sheri Purdy), Shane McCaslin (Holly Teasdale) and Daryl McCaslin, deceased.
Mr. McCaslin was sprinkled at the Presbyterian Church in Tribune, Kan., and after moving to Sheldon he was baptized in the Sheldon Christian Church, where he later served as a deacon and an elder. He loved his kids and farming. After moving to Lamar he served as superintendent of Sunday school and was on the Mission Committee for several years.
While at Sheldon he drove the school bus for 22 years, retiring in 1997. He had also worked at Thorco several years and the ASC office for two years.
