BRENDA PURDY

LAMAR- At her request, Brenda Louise Purdy, 57, Lamar, who died Friday, Sept. 16, 2017, at Truman Healthcare Center, was taken for cremation and the family will have a memorial service for her at a later date.

Survivors include a son and his wife, Jet and Kristen Oberlin, Sheldon; stepchildren, Dale Froling, Coralynn Froling and Justin Floyd; her mother, Evelyn Oberlin, Yuma, Tenn.; two brothers, Dennis Oberlin, Lansing, Mich. and Gary Oberlin, Abilene, Texas; three sisters, Bonnie Oberlin, Dewitt, Mich., Kathy Clark, Yuma, Tenn. and Linda James, Haslett, Mich. and two grandchildren, Izzabell Oberlin and Brayden Robertson.

She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Oberlin; a son, Kevin Purdy and a daughter, Marybeth Purdy.

Mrs. Purdy was born Feb. 22, 1960, in Mt. Pleasant, Mich., to Robert Lee and Evelyn Elizabeth (Phillip) Oberlin. She was a high school graduate and of the Christian faith. She had worked as a housekeeper at hotels until she became disabled due to illness. She had recently moved to Lamar from Arkansas to be close to her son during her illness.
