LEAVENWORTH, Kan.- A graveside service was held Saturday at Fall Creek Cemetery for John MacLaren Dunn, 71, Leavenworth, who died Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2017.

Arrangements were under the direction of Davis Funeral Chapel.

Survivors include his wife Dorothy; sons, John R. Dunn and wife Nadia and Scott M. Dunn and wife Haley; a daughter, Lori M. Adami and husband Jason and a grandson, Elijah MacLaren Dunn.

Mr. Dunn was born Dec. 29, 1945, to John and Eleanor Dunn. He married Dorothy D. Crockett on Jan. 3, 1971, in Lamar, Mo.

Since 1981 he had managed Dunn Cattle Company. His greatest joy was his family. He was always the first to smile and remind others, “It’s another beautiful day in Kansas”.

The material for the screen will be installed late next week and hopefully, after some tweaking, the Barco will open May 3.

Lamar Democrat/Melody Metzger At the April 15 meeting of the Lamar City Council, Lamar resident Rocky McCulloch invited councilmen and the city administrator to take a tour of the pool facilities on Thursday, April 18, as Mason Banes with KC Gunite was going to do a walk through to see what repairs might entail. Several showed up to view the pools, as well as to hear possible solutions. Banes explained that he had to first find out if the damage was structural or plumbing related. Elaine McCulloch noted that hopes are to retain the outdoor lap pool and to redo the indoor pool so that it could serve as a children’s pool following the removal of the enclosure. Banes is to let the McCullochs, as well as the city, know what he would recommend and the cost it would entail.
