LISA JOHNSON

LIBERAL- Friends will be received at 6 p.m. Friday, at Daniel Funeral Home for Lisa Joann Johnson, 50, Liberal, who died Monday, Oct. 23, 2017, at her home, following a sudden illness. Rocky Lemmons will officiate an informal service beginning at 7 p.m.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Johnson family, in care of the funeral home.

Survivors include three sons, Mike and Joe of Liberal and Kelly of Springfield; three daughters, Amber of Liberal, Brandy of Aurora and Holly of Lamar; two brothers, Mark Shelton, Pierce City and Robert Shelton, Joplin; a sister, Nancy Gautney, Aurora; 24 grandchildren and a large extended family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a stepson, Cody Johnson in 2015 and a brother, Danny Shelton in July 2017.
Mrs. Johnson was born March 26, 1967, in Doniphan, to Marion and Whanita (Millwood) Shelton. She married Darrell Johnson on Feb. 15, 1995, at Mt. Vernon. They later moved to Liberal to be near family. He suffered a stroke and died on Jan. 28, 2017.
A natural caregiver, she earned LPN certification and had worked at various nursing homes in Carthage, Webb City and Neosho. She was proud to have trained and supervised most of her children as they continue her legacy as compassionate healthcare providers. She was an avid reader and a talented seamstress. She enjoyed quilting and crocheting afghans for family and friends.
