ROBERT MORRIS, JR.
LAMAR- A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, at Memory Garden Cemetery for Robert Elbert Morris, Jr., 88, Lamar, who died Monday, Nov. 13, 2017. Pastor Mike Gage will officiate. Military honors will be provided by the local VFW Post 3691.
Konantz Warden Funeral Home is assisting the family with the service arrangements.

Survivors include his wife Peggy; a daughter, Patty Morris; grandsons, Michael Morris and Skyler Hockett; six great-grandchildren; a brother, Walter and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his daughter Sharon; a son, Terry; a grandson, Jonny Souza; two brothers, Lewis and Wayne Morris and a sister, Christine Garrett.
Mr. Morris was born Sept. 12, 1929, near Roland, Ark., to Robert and Sarah (Ellison) Morris. He joined the Marines in 1954, serving as a gunnery drill sergeant. He continued in the Marine Corp Reserves for 27 years until his retirement in 1976. He was a skilled mechanic at Sears and Roebuck for 22 years and served more than 15 years at the bus barn in the Roseville, Calif. school district. After moving to Lamar he was employed at Lamar Parks and Rec.
He attended First Christian Church in Lamar as long as he was able and appreciated members of the church and neighbors that would come to his home to visit and pray with him.
He married Peggy Joyce Webb on Nov 13, 1949, in Reno, Nevada.
