LLOYD V. SPENCER

KANSAS CITY- Services will be held at a later date for Lloyd V. Spencer, 88, who died Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2017, in Kansas City, surrounded by his family. Burial will be in Liberal City Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the direction of Konantz Warden Funeral Home, Lamar.

Survivors include his wife, Stella; three daughters, Carol Finley, Papillion, Neb., Vicki Hemley, Overland Park, Kan. and Nancy Hopkins, Independence; eight grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren and an aunt, Billie Williford, Carson City, Kan.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Charlene Spencer and a great-granddaughter, Harley Jean Combs.

Mr. Spencer was born March 10, 1929, near Lamar, to Paul and Maude (Stevenson) Spencer. After graduating from high school he served in the U.S. Army. He married Stella Mae Sorenson, daughter of Allen and Lucille Sorenson of Liberal, on Sept. 10, 1950. He was an airplane mechanic for Boeing and later for TWA.

He was a member of the Methodist church and the Masonic Lodge.
