ALTAMONT, Kan.- The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, at Daniel Funeral Home in Lamar, Mo., for Jackie Soma, 56, Altamont, who died unexpectedly on Saturday, Dec. 23, 2017, at her home. Honoring her wishes, she will later be cremated.

Memorial contributions are suggested to her family, in care of the funeral home.

Survivors include her sons, Matt Gath, McCune and Jesse Gath and wife Rebecca, Livingston, Texas; four grandchildren, Ryan, Cody, Charli and Brynli Gath; two brothers, Jim Soma and wife Jenny, Lamar, Mo. and Jeff Soma, Pasadena, Texas; two sisters, Jenice Gaither and husband Larry and Jerri Soma, Lamar. Mo.; many nephews and nieces and a large extended family.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a niece, Colee Grubb.

Ms. Soma was born May 16, 1961, in Luverne, Minn., to Merrill and Beverly (Lindstrom) Soma. After moving with her family to Missouri, she graduated from Lamar High School in 1979. She later married Dwight Gath and together they had two sons, Matthew and Jesse.

With a sharp mind and affinity for numbers, she had worked as an accountant for several companies for many years. She was an avid reader and a natural champion at Nintendo. She was devoted to her family and especially enjoyed time spent with her grandchildren.
