GOLDEN CITY- Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Konantz Warden Funeral Home in Lamar for Meredythe June Munson, 79, Golden City, who died Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2018, at her home.

Visitation will be held Friday, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., at the funeral home.

Survivors include her mother, Mardelle Hoffman, Golden City; two daughters, Elaine Casey and husband Charles, Sarcoxie and Charlene Foreman and husband Christopher, Richmond, Va.; a son, Richard Munson and wife Erin, Golden City; six grandchildren, Ryan, Chris, Damitra, Darius, Kevin and Jamie and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father; two brothers, John “Jack” Hoffman and Robert R. Hoffman and one sister, Karen K. Potter.

Mrs. Munson was born June 6, 1938, in Waterloo, Iowa, to John Henry and Mardelle Elanor (Guyer) Hoffman. She was a good cook and was the owner and operator of the Cougar’s Cafe in Mable, Minn. She cooked for the Sigma Phi Sorority at Iowa State and for Toubaugh’s Countryside Restaurant in Golden City.
