GENEVA PRICE

NORTH KANSAS CITY, Mo.- Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the First Christian Church in Lamar for Geneva G. (Sampson) (Witt) (Bates) Price, 99, formerly of Windsor, Jasper, Lamar, Kansas City and Independence, who died Thursday, Jan. 25, 2018 in North Kansas City, Mo. Mike Gage will officiate. Burial will be in Green Lawn Cemetery at Jasper.
Arrangements are under the direction of Konantz Warden Funeral Home, Lamar.
Memorial contributions may be made to the North Care Hospice House, in care of the funeral home.
Survivors include a son, Robert F. Witt and wife Aida, Lamar; a daughter, Linda Darlene (Witt) Brown, Kansas City, Mo. and a son, Gerald W. Witt and wife Linda, Gladstone; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Guy Sampson, who died in infancy and Glen Sampson, who died April 19, 1991.
Mrs. Price was born Oct. 20, 1918, to David Edward and Pearl Frances (Pattison) Sampson, at the family farm near Windsor. She later married Forrest Witt in Windsor on Oct. 28, 1933. They were divorced Dec. 23, 1953. She married Paul Bates in Kansas City on Oct. 24, 1954 and lived and worked in Kansas City until she and her husband retired to Jasper in February of 1980. He died Jan. 4, 1982. She later married Elmer Price on Oct. 3, 1991, in Miami, Okla. and following their marriage they moved to Lamar. They were divorced Oct. 10, 1995.
While living in Lamar she attended the First Christian Church. During the past five years she has resided at “The Groves”, a full care facility in Independence.
The family is mourning the loss of their mother and grandmother, but celebrating her long life of loving, caring and teaching life’s lessons.
