SUZI DUNAGAN

RURAL LAMAR- A gathering to celebrate the life of Rhonda Susan “Suzi” Dunagan, 59, rural Lamar, who died early Friday morning, Feb. 2, 2018, at Freeman West Hospital in Joplin, will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, at Daniel Funeral Home in Lamar. A private committal service will be held at a later date.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Barton County Human Society or Arthritis Foundation, in care of the funeral home.

Survivor include her husband, Doyle, of the home; a son, Doyle D. Dunagan Jr. and wife Jennie, Stockton; two brothers, David Strong and wife Christy, Lamar and Mick Strong and wife Pam, Hot Springs, Ark.; a sister, Sari Hornbeck and husband Rick, Lamar; two grandsons, Ryeder and Treyce; two special great-nieces, Taygen and Taylor and many other nieces, nephews and a large extended family and host of friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Heather Joleen Dunagan; a brother, Larry Strong and a sister, Shelley Ann Ryan.
Mrs. Dunagan was born Dec. 13, 1958, in Lamar, to Dean and Mary (Wolverton) Strong. In 1975 she met and later married the love of her life, Doyle Dunagan and they made their home in the Milford area. Her Barton County childhood instilled a lifelong love of nature and animals. She developed a sixth sense in relating to dogs, her favorite horses, Dove and Tater and the fawn, B.B., who was nurtured as a house pet.
Working through the challenges of rheumatoid arthritis, she had been the deli manager at Lamar Supermarket. She was an incredible homemaker, an accomplish seamstress and had completed many cross stitch and crochet projects to share with family and friends.
