ESTHER L. GIFFEN

JOPLIN- Services will be held at 12:30 p.m., on Saturday, Feb. 10, 2018 at First Baptist Church in Webb City for Esther L. Giffen, 90, Joplin, who died Monday, Dec. 18, 2017, at her residence. Graveside will be at 2 p.m., at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Webb City.

Survivors include a daughter, Patricia Harlen, Greenfield; two sons, David Giffen and James Giffen, both of Joplin; a sister, Louise Suiter Lamar; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Grant Giffen; a son, John Giffen and a brother, Leo Wilhelm.

Mrs. Giffen was born Feb. 11, 1927, in Golden City, to Chrissie and Lyda (Blanchard) Wilhelm. She was a meat wrapper for many years for area businesses until her retirement.
