LOCKWOOD-Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Lockwood First Christian Church for Jessie Irene Dobbins, 99, Lockwood, who died Wednesday, July 1, 2015, at Mercy Hospital in Springfield. Burial will be in Lockwood Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the direction of Lockwood Funeral Chapel.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Lockwood First Christian Church.

Survivors include a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by five brothers, Finis Boyd, Leland Dutch Boyd, Cletis Tom Boyd, Joe Boyd and Floyd Boyd, Jr. and four sisters, Helen Steeley, Virginia Harris, Zetta McBride and Mary Evelyn Boyd.

Mrs. Dobbins was born Feb. 8, 1916, in Greenfield, to Floyd Cornealis and Etheal (Thomas) Boyd. She attended Greenfield High School and was a member of their basketball team. She enjoyed all sports, including the St. Louis Cardinals. She had worked at the hospital in Lockwood as a Gray Lady and also in quality control at O'Sullivan Industries in Lamar.

She was a member of the Lockwood First Christian Church.

She married Charlie Glass, who preceded her in death. She then was reunited in marriage to Hershel Dobbins and he too preceded her in death.
