She was preceded in death by two brothers, Art and Ray Cornell and a great-granddaughter, Hannah Lamb.

Mrs. Lamb was born May 29, 1935, in the Newport community, to James and Margaret (Swearingen) Cornell. She married Luther E. Lamb on April 18, 1952 and they made their home and reared their two sons in Lamar. In additional to being a hospitable homemaker and wonderful cook, she had worked for Big Smith and Davison’s Shoe Store. She and her husband owned and operated the Montgomery Wards store for several years. Many will remember the excellent customer service they received from her during her 20-year career at Lamar Walmart.

After retiring from Walmart, she and her husband had more time to enjoy traveling throughout the United States and spending leisurely days fishing and boating on Stockton Lake.

A great day for her was one that included time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was an active member of Cornerstone Southern Baptist Church.
