EARNEST “ERNIE” WORKMAN

IANTHA- Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Konantz Warden Funeral Home for Earnest “Ernie” Workman, 82, Iantha, who died Saturday, Feb. 24, 2018. Burial, with full military honors conducted by the local VFW Post 3691, will be in Iantha Cemetery.
Visitation will be held prior to the service, beginning at 10 a.m.

Survivors include his brother, Wayne Workman; a sister, Pauline Smith; a sister-in-law, Joanne Harper; a brother-in-law, Jack Noll; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, including a special nephew, Jerry Workman and great-nephew Josh and great-niece Heather.
He was preceded in death by a son, Terry Wayne Workman, on Oct. 7, 1979; nine siblings, Eunice LeVaugh, Leonard Workman, Ellen Ambler, Elsie Clark, Jewell Workman, Don Workman, Nadine Ireland and two that died in infancy, Clifford Workman and Waneta Workman.
Mr. Workman was born Dec. 14, 1935, in Springfield and was reared by Will and Chloe Workman in rural Iantha. He was a 1956 graduate of Liberal High School.
He was a skilled brick mason, working for Corn Products for 29 years until he retired. He served in the Army as SP4 (E4) T from March of 1958 to February of 1964. He was of the Methodist faith and a member of VFW.
He married Carolyn Noll on Nov. 19, 1960. She died Aug. 1, 2008.
