JIM RIVES

LAMAR- A celebration of life will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Daniel Funeral Home for James Charles Rives Jr., 64, Lamar, who died Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2018, at his home in Lamar, following a short illness. James Carter will officiate.

Contributions are suggested to Jim Rives family, in care of the funeral home.

Survivors include one brother, Bob Rives, Burdette, Kan.; one sister, Barbara Watkins and husband Stan, Moundville and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Clark Rives and a sister, Elizabeth Carter.

Mr. Rives was born Aug. 26, 1953, in Lamar, to James Charles Rives, Sr. and Josephine Marie (Snider) Rives. He had worked for O’Sullivan Industries for years and was also a self-employed handyman. He enjoyed mowing, landscaping, fishing and was an avid collector of antiques.
