M. LEON MITCHELL

SHAWNEE, Kan.- Visitation services will be held between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. on Thursday, at Amos Family Funeral Home for M. Leon Mitchell, 74, Shawnee, who died peacefully on Wednesday, March 2018, with his family at his side. Burial will be in Hubbel Hill Cemetery, Tonganoxie, alongside his beloved wife Marilyn, on Saturday, April 7, 10 a.m.

A special thank you to the Kansas City Hospice House for their loving care and support, Memorial donations may be made to the Kansas City Hospice House or the Lungevity organization, in support of lung cancer research.

Survivors include his daughter, Michele Omundson and husband Eric; son, Kevin Mitchell; brother, Bill Mitchell and wife Janet; granddaughter, Mallory Omundson; grandsons, Kevin Omundson and wife Victoria and Zachary Omundson and great-granddaughter, Annabel Omundson. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend to all. He will be deeply missed.

Mr. Mitchell was born in Lamar, Mo. He was a farmer, construction foreman and transportation supervisor. In his free time he enjoyed fishing, hunting, metal detecting, gardening and being around family. He was an avid collector of farm toys and coin. The man could fix anything.
