LAMAR-A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Lamar Family Ministry Church for Marie Jeanette Hites, 78, Lamar, who died Friday, July 10, 2015, at Truman Healthcare and Rehabilitation in Lamar.

Memorial contributions may be made to the children's daycare at Lamar Family Ministries Center.

Survivors include six children, June and Joe Turnbach, Littleton, Colo., Paula and John Wingert, Golden City, Patty and Jimmy Rooker, Yukon, Okla., James Hites, Oklahoma City, Okla., Joyce and Keith Cochran, Mustang, Okla. and Rex Hites, of the home; a sister, Sharon Nelson, Lamar; 18 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Janice Lehman; a grandson, Jeffrey Kirby and a great-grandson, Peyton Foster.

Mrs. Hites was born March 1, 1937, in Lamar, to Paul and Aldena (Ambler) Moore. She always had a job, either working for someone or creating a business of her own. She had been a waitress, a bookkeeper and a healthcare provider, among her endeavors. Her relationship with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, her church and her family were always at the center of her life.

She married Leo Hites on Oct. 20, 1956, at the Christian Church in Jasper. He preceded her in death.
