LAUREL HERBINGER

LAMAR- Services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Daniel Funeral Home for Laurel Nell Herbinger, 87, Lamar, who died at her home on Wednesday, May 16, 2018. Burial was held at 11 a.m. Monday, at Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Contributions are suggested to the Alzheimer’s Association, in care of the funeral home.

Survivors include her husband of nearly 42 years, Jack Herbinger; a son, Tom Gartman and wife Pam, Lamar; two daughters, Theresa Swank and husband David, Sugar Creek and Joy Blankinship and husband Doug, Independence; two stepsons, Tony Herbinger, Pittsburg, Kan. and Rick Herbinger, Tennessee; one stepdaughter, Marcy Higgins, South Hutchison, Kan.; grandchildren, Beth Wilson, Andy Cavanaugh, Nici Hulett, Allison Swank, Jamie Leavell, Steven Blankinship, Adam Blankinship, Ryan Gartman, Alexis Gartman, Cedric Gartman, Brooke McClane, Chase McClane, Karah McClane and Eddie Ray Williams; great-grandchildren, Austin Brothers, Ian Wilson, Blake Cavanaugh, Waylon Cavanaugh, Maggie Hulett, Skylar Hulett, Tanner Hulett, Katie Cavanaugh, Christopher Cavanaugh, Caleb Cavanaugh, Kylee Cavanaugh, John Gartman, Paisley Weis, Koby Dernier, Kadence Limpus, Harrison Blankinship, Aiden Leavell, Ryley Leavell, Kale Leavell, Jackson Williams and Justice Williams and one sister, Arietta Mallory, Louisburg, Kan.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Robin Marti; a brother, Ray Humphrey; a sister, Linda Mix; a grandson, Jeffrey Cavanaugh; a daughter-in-law, Samantha Gartman and a stepdaughter, Jan Marie Rush.

Mrs. Herbinger was born March 8, 1931, in Colby, Kan., to Charles Adrian and Iva Kathryn (Newell) Humphrey. She graduated Lamar High School in 1949 and attended cosmetology school. For over 20 years she worked as a beautician, operating the Hair Pin Hut, owned and operated Crafts & Things for several years and had worked at the Sears store in Kansas City for 18 years. She was an avid flower gardener as well and loved bowling.

She married Jack D. Herbinger on June 8, 1976, in Miami, Okla.
