LYNDELL “LYN” MAYFIELD

ROY, Utah- Services and burial were held Friday, July 6, at Roy Mortuary, with burial at Washington Heights Memorial Park, Roy, for Lyndell “Lyn” Mayfield, Roy, 79, who died Saturday, June 30, 2018.

Mr. Mayfield was born April 23, 1939, in Vernon County, Mo., to Harvey Floyd and Iva Lavesta (Greer) Mayfield.

He married Marilyn Pickett on June 8, 1963 and together they reared six children. Survivors include his wife, Marilyn; three sons, Mark and wife Lois, Jeff and wife Nancy and Chris and wife Jody; two daughters, Patty Mayfield and Cindy Fox; a sister, Janet Sechrest and husband Larry, Lamar; a sister-in-law, Nadine Mayfield and a brother-in-law, Bob Keithly.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Deb Mayfield; a sister, Jean Keithly; a daughter, Nanette Marie Turner and a son-in-law, Tony Fox.

He originally went to Utah to work on construction with his Uncle Joe Greer, but later changed careers and worked and retired in 1993 from Hill Air Force Base as captain of the Department of Defense Police Force.

He was an avid gardener, sports enthusiast, avid reader and a devoted grandpa to his 21 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

He was faithful to his Missouri family; always coming home when needed and just visiting with them. He will be missed, but never forgotten.
