GALENA, Kan.- A celebration of life will be held at 6 p.m. Monday at Daniel Funeral Home in Lamar for Michelle Dawn Schermerhorn, 37, Galena, who died Thursday, July 19, 2018, at Freeman Hospital West, as the result of an automobile accident on July 8, 2018. Daniel Moss will officiate. The family will receive friends following the service.

Survivors include two sons, Garrett Peterson and Tanner Hennessy, Galena; a daughter, Trinity Peterson, Galena; her mother and stepfather, Connie and Dwight Clemans, Mindenmines, Mo.; her father, Michael Peterson, Bonner Springs; one brother, Danny Vaughn, Fulton, Mo.; four sisters, Dana Fawler, Mulberry, Tiffany Gray, Shawnee, April Ortega, Asbury, Mo. and Krystal Wards, Kansas City, Mo.; her grandmothers, Melba Vaughn, Mindenmines, Mo. and Carolyn Peterson, Bonner Springs and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by an infant son, Matthew Hennessy.

Mrs. Schermerhorn was born July 7, 1981, in Shawnee Mission. She had worked at Superior Industries in Pittsburg. She loved to swim and fish and just enjoyed life.
