LAMAR- The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, at Daniel Funeral Home for John Michael Stettler, 66, Lamar, who died Sunday, Aug. 12, 2018, at the home of his daughter.

Survivors include a son, John Adam Stettler and wife Trisha, Lamar; four daughters, Stephanie Spain and husband Matt, Lockwood, Harmony Stettler, Kansas City, Mo., Tara Anderson and husband Matthew, Austin, Texas and Kandra Stettler, San Antonio, Texas; one brother, James Stettler and companion Sherry Stettler, Lamar; two sisters, Lendi Davis and husband Jerry, Iantha and Naomi Shaw and husband Ken, Lee’s Summit and 11 grandchildren, Andrew, Ahmir, Payton, Daphne, Johnny, Julia, Ashlyn, Megan, Olivia, Jace and Ember.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Mr. Stettler was born March 20, 1952, to John Marvin and Helen Elizabeth (Niehaus) Stettler. He attended Prairie Rose Grade School and was a 1970 graduate of Lamar High School. He then attended SMS in Springfield.

Having a “zest for life”, he enjoyed hunting and fishing, exploring for arrowheads and collecting rocks from locations he visited, pulling tractors, MOPAR cars, NHRA and was a master diesel mechanic who could fix anything and make it better than it was before. He was proud to have earned the FFA American Farmer Degree. He was a trucker, welder and a row crop farmer.
