LAMAR- A graveside service, with military honors, will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Sheldon Cemetery for George William Giger, 95, Lamar, who died Sunday, Sept. 23, 2018, at Cox Barton County Hospital in Lamar, following a brief illness. Rev. Jerod Lamb will officiate.
Arrangements are under the direction of Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada.
Memorials are suggested to the Sheldon Cemetery, in care of the funeral home.

Survivors include one sister, Ethel White, Moran, Kan.; one brother, Marion Giger and wife Leila, Irwin; a special granddaughter, Jennifer Garringer, El Dorado Springs and his great-grandchildren, Trevyn and Tayah.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Clide Giger and three sisters, Thelma Owen, Wilma Rice and Virginia Giger.
Mr. Giger was born Aug. 17, 1923, in Irwin, to Grover Marion and Theo Charlotte (Riddle) Giger. He married Nora Mae Jones on Dec. 23, 1956.
He was reared in Barton County, having served in the United States Army for two years during World War II and also the Korean War. Following his time in the service, he returned home to the Irwin area where he farmed and raised cattle nearly all of his life. He also drove fertilizer trucks for MFA in Irwin. He lived most of his life in the Irwin area.
