LAMAR- Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Daniel Funeral Home for Kenneth Norman Blanchard, 90, Lamar, who died Thursday, Feb. 14, 2019, at Truman Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center. Burial, with military honors, will be in the Sheldon Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday, at the funeral home.

Contributions are suggested to the Barton County Senior Center, in care of the funeral home.

Survivors include two sons, Kerry Blanchard and wife Pat, Lamar and Danny Blanchard and wife Debbie, Springfield; a stepson, Levy Hites and wife Ivy, Seneca; a stepdaughter, Elaine Cline, Kenoma; a brother, Kyle Blanchard and wife Nancy, Lamar; four grandchildren, Josh Blanchard and wife Amanda, Kenny Blanchard and wife Camille, Danny Blanchard and Arlo Ward and wife Monique and several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife Emily, in 2017; a daughter, Pam Ward; a brother, Bob Blanchard and a sister, Betty Blanchard.

Mr. Blanchard was born Aug. 14, 1928, in Iantha, to Clarence Riley Blanchard and Mabel Evelyn (Dinwiddie). He attended Lamar High School and served his country in the United States Navy from January 17, 1946 until November 5, 1947. In 1951 he married Peggy Stoner and was blessed with three children. On September 22, 1972, he married Emily Ann Blanchard in Bentonville, Ark.

Mr. Blanchard had worked at Lawn Boy Company, had installed house siding and owned and operated K&E Rebuilders for over 20 years, rebuilding starters and alternators. After he retired, he enjoyed working around his rural home, cutting wood and taking care of his goats.
