LAMAR- Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada, Mo., for Vanessa Marie Coon, 42, Lamar, who died Tuesday, May 7, 2019, at her home in Lamar, following a brief illness. Pastor Robb Hodson will officiate. Burial will be in Newton Burial Park in Nevada. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., prior to the service.

Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society, in care of the funeral home.

Survivors include two children, Alecia Jacobs and Caitlin Jacobs, both of the home in Lamar; her parents, Wayne and Elaine Schraml, Harrisonville; one sister, Rebecca Burke and fiance Blake Wagner, Miller; three nephews, Ethan, Caleb and Keith; a great-niece, Autumn; a great-nephew, Landon and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.

Mrs. Coon was born March 20, 1977, in Nevada, Mo., to Louis “Wayne” and Elaine Marie (Cook) Schraml. She grew up in Nevada and attended school there. She was a 1995 graduate of Nevada High School, where she was an active member in the NHS Band. She worked in Dietary for Nevada Regional Medical Center, Oxford Healthcare in the Lamar and Jasper areas, Thorco Manufacturing in Lamar and Walmart in Nevada for eight years until her retirement due to illness. She had resided in Lamar for the past 18 years. She enjoyed spending time with her family, latch hook and watching movies.
