Bike safety taught at West Elementary

Lamar Democrat/Melody Metzger Lamar School Resource Officer Jordan Salinas spoke to third through fifth grade classes at West Elementary, on the importance of bike safety. Classes gathered from 12 noon to 2 p.m., to hear Officer Salinas stress the necessity of following fules of bike safety, including what type of clothing to wear, to the importance of wearing a helmet and which way the individual riding the bike should travel. Officer Salinas emphasized that any law that applied to a motor vehicle also applied to a bicycle and the most instrumental point she made was, “to look both ways”!
