Bike safety taught at West Elementary

Lamar School Resource Officer Jordan Salinas spoke to third through fifth grade classes at West Elementary, on the importance of bike safety. Classes gathered from 12 noon to 2 p.m., to hear Officer Salinas stress the necessity of following fules of bike safety, including what type of clothing to wear, to the importance of wearing a helmet and which way the individual riding the bike should travel. Officer Salinas emphasized that any law that applied to a motor vehicle also applied to a bicycle and the most instrumental point she made was, “to look both ways”!
