HOWARD “BUTCH” HARRIS

The body has been taken for cremation and a private family service will be held at a later date for Howard L. “Butch” Harris, 64, who died Thursday, July 25, 2019, at Mercy Hospital in Joplin.

Arrangements are under the direction of Ulmer Funeral Home.

Survivors include his mother, Colleen; one son, Doug Harris, Carthage; one daughter, Nicol Henderson and husband Josh, Kyle, Texas; one brother, Kevin Emery and wife Angie, Carthage; one sister, Denise Sterley and husband Brett, Springfield; three grandchildren, Graysen, Ansley and Haley Henderson; a friend, Dyann Elliston, along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Cliff and a sister, Deann Kaughman.

Mr. Harris was born Feb. 1, 1955, in Monterey Park, Calif., to Cliff and Colleen (Trout) Emery. He was reared and lived in the Carthage and Golden City areas. He worked at Morgan Pallets and loved to fish, hunt, bowl and watch old western movies.
