ETHEL HUNT

GOLDEN CITY-Services were held at 10 a.m. Monday at Pugh Funeral Home for Ethel Yvonne Miller Hunt, 87, Golden City, who died at 8:33 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 18, 2015, at Austin Hospice Christopher House in Austin, Texas. Rev. Lonnie Pennell officiated. Burial was in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Golden City.

Survivors include two sons, William Raymond Hunt and wife Carol Sue, Seguin, Texas and Jerry Wayne Hunt and wife Faye Anne, Austin, Texas; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; a son, Robert Leslie Hunt; a granddaughter, Judy Lynn Hunt and two brothers, Lloyd Leslie and Henry Allen Miller.

Mrs. Hunt was born Oct. 27, 1927, near Quincy, Kan., to Leslie Henry and Mabel Irene (Van Arsdale) Miller. She married Raymond Arab William Hunt on June 21, 1947, in Chelan, Wash. They made their home in Odessa, Texas.

Mrs. Hunt was a Licensed Vocational Nurse for 40 years. She volunteered to do home visits for hospice in both Odessa, Texas and later in Golden City, where she and her husband spent many of their years. She was a former president of the LVN Association in Odessa, Texas for 10 years and was a member of the National Women's Business Association. She and her husband both loved to play cards and travel the country, where they visited all 50 states. Her hobbies included crochet, quilting, going to estate sales and auctions, cake decorating (she was known as the Cake Lady), fishing and camping.
