With temperatures in the 90’s on Monday, Aug. 12, it was hard to stay cool, especially when Golden City doesn’t have a town pool. When the Golden City workers met to discuss their day, they realized that it was going to be unbearably hot and that they had not yet used their sprinkler system this year. Last year, during the heat, Central States Automation had created a way for the fire hydrant to become a sprinkler for the neighborhood. “It was used several times last year, but this year, with all the rain, there just hasn’t been a decent time to do it,” said one city employee, adding, “Today seemed like a good day!”
